The windows in this entryway bring in a nice amount of light and brightness. The homeowner liked the light coming in while at the same time would like the option of having privacy at nighttime. She wanted something to complete the space and had seen roman shades before. She needed assurance that Romans were the way to go. I thought it was a wonderful idea! When Forward fold Roman shades are pulled up, they create an elegant soft valance at the top of the window with 3 to 5 forward folds depending of course on the size of the window and allow for light to penetrate the space. When fully extended, they hang beautifully and again with a soft elegance to provide the privacy my client is looking for.

The client asked me to select a fabric that wasn’t too bold or busy. I selected a soft tribal pattern with both a navy and a natural jute color running through it. A lining was used to back the shades and still allow day light to penetrate through. The darker fabric was a good choice to add warmth and even more privacy at nighttime. This enhanced the entry, complimented the dining area and the rest of the home with a western/tribal flare.
